Today was our fertility appointment. We started out our day in a big fight...I'm stressed out...the reason for us to have to have a fertility appointment is because I"m all screwed up! LOL So we made our way to the appointment and as we were waiting there was a t-shirt hanging up that said "Infertility is an emotional ride, but it has an ending" and Daniel and I made up right then!
We went in to meet our doctor, Dr. Hudson, she's so wonderful and nice and she explained to us what we're gonna do at first. So we started the appointment fully, which started with me having an ultrasound to measure my uterus and ovaries...luckily its all normal sizes (thank goodness) then off to get about 5 tubes of blood drawn from me, yikes. We then sat down with our "coach" and she told us our next steps. This includes me having to have a HSG (hystersalpingogram) where they inject dye into my uterus to see if I have any blockage from my uterus up my fallopian tubes to my ovaries...that is scheduled for the 23rd of this month. Then Daniel has a date on the 27th of September to offer a semen sample. He did have a choice to do it at the clinic or to do it at home and have it dropped off within the hour of dropping his sample in the cup....he chose to do it at home (no surprise there). Then on cycle day 21, which is October 5th, I have to return to the clinic for another blood draw to see my progesterone levels and to do a glucose tolerance test. So after this is all done, we schedule another appointment to see what the damage is and what the next step is to get pregnant! Hopefully I'll just need some clomid and we can start baby dancing.
So I'll be sure to keep tabs on this process and let ya'll know whats going on as it happens. This will be a busy month for us.....so hopefully it goes by quickly and we can get pregnant before the year is over!! ** fingers crossed **
