8 months preggie......

I can't believe it! Seems like only yesterday, it was January and I tested positive on a pregnancy test....and here I am 8 weeks shy of my due date! CRAZY!

Well in the last two weeks I've been pretty busy including a flight to Denver for work and baby did wonderfully on the first flight out...not a peep; just a little bit of stirring around during take off and landing (just like mommy)

Trying to get everything together before D-Day....the baby's room and things at work. Starting to collect things for my hospital bag; so much to think about! Anyone have any input on what I should be sure to take with me....besides a camera and goodies for myself, daniel and baby. I'm open to any suggestions.

I also started Hypnobirthing...a wonderful way to get myself into a state of mind to deliver my boogie drug free! The more I learn, the more excited I get about it! Now I just need Daniel on board! LOL He's been traveling so much in the last 6 months; that we really aren't connected in regards to delivery!! Luckily, he has told his boss that he will not travel out of the state starting September 1st!! YAY. So hopefully Daniel and I can get on track on how to figure all this out!! LOL

I have a baby shower coming up next weekend; the 27th...I'm so grateful to have a wonderful friend who offered to throw me a shower...Tricia Contreras!! I can't thank her enough!! I will definitely post pictures of the baby shower afterwards!! Should be tons of fun! YAY!!

We're still trying to set up and finish the baby room....with Daniel's travels, I really can't hang up a curtain rod! LOL So been washing baby clothes and blankets and trying to set something up...not really sure what I"m doing! LOL

We also started the "talk" about if its a boy, whether or not we will circumcise......after much research, we've decided that we will not snip our little boy (if he is one in there) There's no medical reason to do it and its been researched that a baby will hemorrhage by losing only 1 oz of blood...that's such a small amount that I'm not willing to risk the life of my baby. Also, statistics show that circumcision isn't popular anymore, despite what most people thing. Even insurance companies will not cover the cost of it for newborns since it isn't medically necessary; that should be proof enough that society now only does it for aesthetic reasons, not for any other reason!

Well off to do some more work; trying to get things organized for Kerry, the awesome nurse/FA who will be covering my facility while I"m out for 12 weeks of maternity leave! I'm honestly excited about all the time off...its been so chaotic that I'm needing the time away; even though it is for a very tough job; but it'll be wonderful to be away from work for a while! Well I will post again soon. I can't believe that in 7 weeks we will get to meet this little booger that nudges me every day!! And to find out what the heck it is!!!! Boy or Girl?!?!?

30 weeks down.....

Well I can't believe it, but I'm at 30 weeks preggie....that means 10 weeks (or less) to go!! I can't believe its been almost a month since I"ve last written on here. Lots to catch up on.....

+ I failed the One Hour Glucose test; but I passed the 3 hour...thank goodness!!

+ I started a Hypnobirthing class. I've done lots of research about this and I think that this is the awesome & positive way to achieve a natural child-birthing experience. So far I've only had one class; my next one is coming up this weekend. I spoke to my Doula about it and she thinks its a wonderful thing to combine with her assistance. I'm so determined to deliver my Boogie naturally; to have him/her not be affected by any medication that doesn't need to be introduced to him/her. To have her/him be completely awake and aware when we first meet face to face.

+ On a note about Boogie; he/she has been been so active lately! Especially on my right side. Whew, are my ribs sore! I wish he/she would move to the left side and let the right side be for a little bit! Sleeping has been a pretty eventful experience, especially for the last several weeks. Rolling over is such an enormous act that wakes me up all night long.

+ HEARTBURN. This deserves its own bullet. Heartburn is an all day long experience for me. Even milk gives me heartburn!! It wakes me up in the middle of the night and its so difficult because if its 4 hours before my scheduled time to take my Synthroid, I have to suffer with the heartburn; I cannot mix Tums with my Synthroid. So I try to prop myself up when I go to bed, but of course during the course of my sleep I'm back down to my comfortable position but unfortunately always gives me heartburn! YUCKY!!

So on my last meeting with my Doula, Susan; we discussed pressure points to start around 36 weeks. Also around 32 weeks starting to do Perineal massage and again at 36 weeks starting to insert Evening Primrose herbs to start softening my cervix. We also discussed getting a gift bags of sweets ready for the staff on D-day! So today I went shopping and purchased a baby gift bag and bought some sweets (chocolates, worthers originals, and strawberry creme livesavers) for my awesome staff who will be taking care of me and my Boogie. I'm really hoping that my girls will be there and not a new person that I don't know; from when I worked there. We'll see.

There's still so much to do before D-Day! I finally found my letter from the VA to prove that they are covering my pregnancy; I'm supposed to have it with me at all times just in case I go into labor and I couldn't find it after our move...but luckily I found it in the last box I thought it would be in. I still need to pack up an overnight bag; I did buy some travel items today while I was at Target (shampoos/conditioners, lotion, kleenex, listerine, toothpaste, etc) but really need to get crackin'; knowing me I'll go into labor early and have to depend on Daniel to pack things!! LOL

Well gonna hit the sack; I'll update again soon!
